Revisiting the Top End

Master landscape artist Peter Barraclough brings fresh eyes and a brighter palette to create a feast of form and colour in his third solo show at Framed.

A sensitive response to the Top End’s unique landforms delivers a vital new body of work, with much to like.

After many visits to the the Territory over the last 30 years, Peter’s new works show no sign of sentimentality. His paintings are robust representations of favourite places, painted in rich oils or mixed media to create the truth of place the artist was seeking in this all-painting show.

Peter has had a long and successful career both as teacher and exhibiting artist. His eye for an interesting composition and use of atmospheric colour is much respected, and his work is widely collected.

Born in Yorkshire, Peter has lived in Tasmania since 1970. He credits the natural beauty of the island state for his transition to landscape painting.

Come and meet Peter Barraclough and enjoy his fresh new exhibition. He will be in town for a week and is happy to take commissions.

Please join us from 6.30pm on Friday the 30th for the opening at 7.00pm
